Bio
Received his first set of golf clubs at age 2. Parents said he tried to sneak out of the house whenever he could to hit balls in his yard.
Enjoyed playing Impossible Chipping Contests with his friends at Wildwood Green GC, where they would intentionally give each other the worst lies possible and then see who could get the ball closest to the pin.
Graduated from Ravenscroft School in his childhood hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. Notable alums of Ravenscroft School include actor Michael C. Hall (Class of 1989), best known for his award-winning performance in the television series Dexter, and former NFL safety Antwan Harris (Class of 1996), who won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Says he eventually quit playing baseball because he was using his "golf swing" in the batter's box, leading to an inordinate number of strikeouts.
